Senior Apparel Designer

Mission

As a Senior Designer your primary responsibility is to design innovative and technologically advanced products that meet the needs of the company’s customers and end users which drive the company’s sales and profits. You should be confident in leading and designing whole collections around coherent themes and product briefs and collaborate with our team to ensure design feasibility from concept to realization. In this position you will lead other designers and be accountable for their output and execution.

The Senior Designer should be comfortable providing inspiration and foundation to the design team for a collection, combining all necessary trend, material, and market research into a viable product line.  You will establish a strong graphic and color merchandising that is commercial yet unique to the Company. The Senior Designer is accountable for the creative production of designs to enhance the product category, brings a track record of skillful technical design with success on the market and within core users. The Senior Designer should also expect to serve as a mentor and teacher to the other designers in the team. This role will need to be able to adapt to working on multiple product categories and be able to handle quick turnarounds and large sku counts. You will report to the Head of Design

PROFIL

– Track record within premium sport brands
– +8 years of work experience
– Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Fashion Design (or equivalent)
– Passion for contemporary sports, fashion culture and trends
– Strong apparel design skills, including drawing/sketching, ideation, colour and proportions, visual presentation and layout- Strong technical knowledge of men’s/women’s performance garment construction, manufacturing processes, materials and fitting
– Very experienced in creating technical packs and detailed explanation for development
– Strong knowledge of aesthetic form and the ability to design for different consumers and end uses
– Experience in managing complete product and collection cycles
– Strong organizational management skills
– Excellent knowledge in Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
– Excellent communication skills to present clearly to key stakeholders
– Fluent in English, knowledge in German or French
